How Carage calculates your fuel economy

  1. Log a fill-up

    Odometer, amount of fuel, price – and whether you filled the tank.

  2. Fill to full

    Between two full-tank fill-ups, Carage divides the fuel used by the distance driven.

  3. See the trend

    Average consumption and fuel cost per month show up on the vehicle screen.

Fuel tracking questions

How do I calculate my gas mileage?

Fill the tank, reset the trip meter, drive, then fill up again. Divide the miles driven by the gallons you put in (MPG), or the litres by the kilometres times 100 (l/100 km). Carage does this automatically from your fill-ups.

Do I have to fill the tank every time?

No. Partial fill-ups are fine – Carage calculates consumption between full-tank fill-ups, so occasional full tanks keep the numbers accurate.

Can I track electric or hybrid cars?

You can log charging costs as expenses and track services and reminders like for any vehicle. Fuel consumption figures are designed for liquid fuel.

Can I add fill-ups with Siri?

Yes. Carage has a Shortcuts action to log a fill-up by voice.
