How to set up an oil change reminder
Add your car and mileage
Carage needs your current odometer reading to estimate when the next service will come.
Pick a template or your own interval
Oil and filter, brakes, coolant, tyres, timing belt – or anything else. Use your manufacturer's interval.
Choose date, mileage or both
E.g. every 15,000 km or 12 months. The reminder comes on whichever is reached first.
Mark it done
Completing a reminder logs the service and schedules the next one automatically.
Your owner's manual or service booklet has the right intervals for your engine – synthetic oil, driving style and climate can all change them.

Reminder questions
How often should I change my oil?
It depends on your engine and oil – many modern cars with synthetic oil use 10,000–15,000 km (roughly 6,000–10,000 miles) or 12 months, older engines less. Always follow your owner's manual; Carage lets you set exactly that interval.
How does Carage know when I'll reach the mileage?
From the odometer readings you log with services and fill-ups. Carage works out your average daily distance and estimates the date. Update the mileage now and then for accurate reminders.
Can I get reminders for insurance and inspections?
Yes. Insurance policies, registration, inspections and any custom task get date-based reminders, configurable days in advance.
Are reminders free?
Yes. Reminders, the widget and the calendar are part of the free version.
